Samsung has officially confirmed Android 4.4.2 KitKat firmware update for it's 14 Galaxy devices including Galaxy S3 and Galaxy S3 Mini. The users of these devices had almost lost their hope that they will be getting KitKat update.
Now, Samsung posted all the names of 14 Galaxy devices (tablets, Notes and smartphones). The firmware update for these all devices has already been started from yesterday (i.e 18th Feb) and has been rolling out out to users in US but soon it will hit to global users.
The 14 devices which qualified for KitKat firmware update are :
- Galaxy Note 3
- Galaxy Note 2
- Galaxy S4, Mini, Active and Zoom
- Galaxy S3, Mini
- Galaxy Mega
- Galaxy Light
- Galaxy Note 8.0
- Galaxy Tab 3
- Galaxy Note 10.1
- Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014 edition)
The firmware update brings a number of innovative, easy-to-use features that enhance the user experience, including a more intuitive user interface, enhanced messaging capabilities and updated applications:

The firmware update brings a number of innovative, easy-to-use features that enhance the user experience, including a more intuitive user interface, enhanced messaging capabilities and updated applications:
- Location Menu: An integrated location menu enables users to easily activate GPS, Wi-Fi and mobile networks, while simultaneously checking the battery usage of apps running location service capabilities.
- Enhanced Messaging: Enables users to choose between Messages or Hangouts as their preferred default messaging application, and select from a larger assortment of updated Emoji icons.
- Upgraded Google Mobile Service™ (GMS) apps: Users can automatically back up photos and video and can open, view, rename and share Google Docs and files.
As usual, to update your firmware to Android 4.4.2 KitKat just navigate to Settings > About Phone > Software Udpates > Check for Updates.
