Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini, S3 Mini, Ace 3, Galaxy Core and other low-end devices to get Android 4.4 KitKat
As Google announced Android 4.4 KitKat officially it also said it now aims to give taste of 4.4 KitKat to low-end devices with it's capability to be stable on as low-end devices as less as 512 MB of RAM and low-cost devices.
This announcement from Google made every low-end devices users hoping their manufactures will bring Android 4.4 KitKat firmware update to their devices. Users of Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini, Ace 3, Galaxy Core and other mid-range devices thought that their devices will not be eligible for future firmware updates.
But according to a new image sent to the inbox of Sammobile, Samsung is thinking of doing just that, and is considering the update for some of its mid-range and low-end devices.
The image listed the following devices which will be receiving Android 4.4 KitKat - Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini, S3 Mini, Ace 3, S Advance, Ace 2, Core, Fame, Fresh and there are likely to be more devices on the list but aren't caught in the image.
However, just because Samsung is considering the update doesn’t mean the updates will actually come – the Galaxy S4 mini is one device that is most likely to get the update, but for the other devices on that list, there might not be much hope, if only because Samsung’s heavy and bloated TouchWiz skin might negate the work Google has done on reducing the memory consumption on Android 4.4 KitKat.
But then again, we can hope Samsung will definitely bring Android 4.4 KitKat to some of the devices on the listing and give them a new experience.
