Google introduced Android 4.4 KitKat, the next android version

As the day begins for IFA's Pre events of Samsung and Sony, Google has made a push to it's next Android version called 4.4 KitKat (yup, that's a Chocolate name) but according to rumors the next Android version was expected to be 5.0 Key Lime Pie.

Google has officially announced that the next successor of Android 4.3 will be Android 4.4 KitKat but not the rumored Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie.



Sundar Pichai, the Android and Chrome head has also confirmed the naming scheme of the next Android version 4.4 KitKat which is named after Neslte's popular candy bar trademarked and licensed by Hershey in US.

Sundar Pichai in his Google+'s post revealed that Android device activations have now passed 1 billion and says he "can't wait to release the next version of the platform."

Google said "it's our goal with Android KitKat to make an amazing Android experience available for everybody". The bold statement also suggests that Google plans to make use of its next iteration of Android in smartwatches, gaming consoles and other electronic gadgets.

Here's the list of Android version which Google named them after dessert names :

- Android 1.5: Cupcake
- Android 1.6: Donut
- Android 2.0: Eclair
- Android 2.2: Froyo
- Android 2.3: Gingerbread
- Android 3.0: Honeycomb
- Android 4.0: Ice Cream Sandwich
- Android 4.1: Jelly Bean
- Android 4.2: Jelly Bean
- Android 4.3: Jelly Bean
- Android 4.4: KitKat

Lenovo Vibe Z (K910L) is getting Android 4.4.2 KitKat firmware update

Looks like the worlds largest PC manufacturer is picking up the speed and focusing on the Smartphone markets because users of Lenovo Vibe Z (K910L) in Malaysia has reported getting Android 4.4.2 KitKat firmware update for their device.



The update is rolled out OTA (Over-the-air) sizes massive amount of 1.2 GB fixing all kind of bugs, errors and obviously improving performance and stability of the device and maybe Lenovo also have thrown-in some of it's features from Motorola's recent acquisition.

As usual, to update your Vibe Z to Android 4.4.2 KitKat firmware just navigate to Settings>About Phone>Software Updates> Check for Updates and see if you got the update waiting for your there.

Samsung Galaxy Note 8 to be a barrier to success for iPhone 8 launch

As the days close in for the Apple iPhone 8 launch, there are various leaks, rumors coming in from all around the internet but then there's Samsung.
