Following the footsteps of Twitter and Google Plus, Facebook is going to introduce a system of verifying user accounts.
If the user account or Official pages are verified by Facebook then a check mark appears right after their name (or) page name. This verification shows it as a genuine page or user account managed officially.

However, the verifying system will only proceed by degrees and will concern only very popular pages hosted by celebrities or companies. It's not possible to request a verification but suspected fake accounts can always be reported as before.
As always, Facebook don't allow fake accounts which represent someone else but not the real person who the user pretends to be. Evidence of a genuine account could include reciprocal links between Facebook and the homepage of a user or business.
