Idea launches two 3G supportable smartphones ID 920, Aurus III

With the success of Idea's recently launched 3G smartphones, Idea on Tuesday (21st May 2013) launched two more smartphones ID 920 and Aurus III with 3G support for Rs. 4,950 ($89.33) and Rs. 6,990 ($126.15).

Both ID 920 and Aurus III are dual SIM phones powered by 1Ghz processor.

Idea said, ID 920 is an entry level phone and is aimed to target semi-urban markets. Idea also said that the strategy of the company is to provide 3G supportable smartphones. So far, Idea has sold 3 lakh (and counting) 3G smartphones since it entered the devices market.


Sashi Shankar, Chief Marketing Officer of Idea cellular said, "Keeping in mind the requirements of the fast evolving Indian consumer in the light of the ongoing mobile broadband revolution, the new 3G smartphones from Idea are priced affordably to upgrade existing 2G users to 3G."

Idea ID 920 is powered by 1 Ghz processor, 3.5 inch TFT screen, 2MP rear camera, 2 GB internal storage (expandable upto 32 GB). ID 920 runs on Android version 2.3.



On the other hand, Aurus III runs on Android version 4.1 Jelly bean, 1Ghz processor, 4 inch capacitive Display with resolution of 480x800p, 512 MB RAM with  4 GB of ROM, 5 MP rear camera with fixed focus and digital zoom, a front facing camera for video calling.

Nokia have plans to make an special announcement on July 11. According to the press invite sent out to on Thursday which is scheduled for July 11, Nokia is about to launch a new flagship camera on that day.
