LG officially launched G2, powered by Snapdragon 800 processor - Full Specifications, Pricing and availability
LG, yesterday at their event in New York officially unveiled their long rumored flagship called G2. The striking thing which LG G2 comes with is Ultra-slim bezel and lack of any hardware keys on front or sides.
The only hardware key is found at back, a combo of several buttons in one allowing power/sleep key dead center along with volume keys which acts double as shortcuts for camera and Quick Memo feature. The only reason behind to position these keys behind is to provide better and easier for handling and less prone to dropping.
FULL Specifications
The LG G2 sports a 5.2 inch FULL HD (1080p) IPS display and uses GRAM (Graphic RAM) to decrease power consumption up-to 26% when displaying a still image which LG claims to increase battery life by 10%.
LG G2 is powered by 2.3 GHz Qualcomm's Quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor with Adreno 330 GPU, 2 GB of RAM, 16GB/32GB internal storage (expandable via MicroSD card slot), 13 MP Rear camera with OIS (optical image stabilization) capable of recording FULL HD (1080p) videos @60 fps.
On Front, lies a 2.1 MP Camera capable of recording FULL HD (1080p) videos @30 fps. LG G2 relies on 3,000 mAh Li-Po battery and runs on Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean.
Regarding connectivity, G2 offers LTE-A (up-to 150 MBps), dual-band Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Wi-Fi Direct, Wi-Fi hotspot and DLNA, Bluetooth 4.0 with A2DP, GPRS, EDGE, NFC, Infrared port and MicroUSB 2.0.
As customary for Android flagships, the LG G2 offers several proprietary features to differentiate. You can double tap on the screen to wake it up and tap again to turn it back off. The phone will readily auto answer a call when you pick it up to your ear.
There is an innovative Guest mode to secure the privacy of your data when friends want to check out your new smartphone or when you hand down your phone to your kid and you can get rid of a currently active app and minimize it by a three-finger swipe across the screen.
When it comes to multi-tasking, LG G2 can store up-to three different applications progress at a time and the taking screenshot features allows to take screenshot of an entire email (or) a whole webpage.
Pricing an Availability
LG G2 will be available in Black, White and will launch to over 130 carriers (which includes all 4 US major carriers - Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile and Sprint) by end of this August starting from South Korea followed by North America, Europe and other markets. Unfortunately, there's still no official pricing details from LG.
