Facebook, the social networking giant website will be introducing the hash-tags feature following twitter. The hash-tags feature will be happening as same as the Twitter does when you click on '#' symbol.

Clicking on '#' tag will be providing you with the same topic with latest news feed around the social-networking website. Posts of hash-tags will be having the same privacy policy as the normal posts does. Facebook hash-tags will be denoted by '#' symbol, as the other social websites does.
Users can also search on Facebook for specific hash-tags to find more and more information about the topic and click on hash-tag that originate on other services.
Greg Lindley wrote on Company blog, “To date, there has not been a simple way to see the larger view of what’s happening or what people are talking about.”
Facebook have about 655 million active users daily when compared to 200 million Twitter users but Facebook has not been successful as Twitter at marketing itself as a place for discussion.
For example, he said, 88 million to 100 million Americans post on Facebook during prime-time television hours each night and comment actively on what they watch. So, there is a lot of content on Facebook other than this Lindley noted.
