Today, the users of Nokia X/X+/XL started getting a new software update. It's not Software update 2.0 but yes, it actually does brings in some features from v2.0 such as the new app switcher allowing you to change among the apps you launched by swiping down from above and then select folder like option. Apps can also be closed from switcher by just tapping on the X at bottom of the screen. As this software update is being rolled, more Microsoft services has been added into the device. The new MS services which as been added are - Outlook, OneDrive and OneNote. After Nokia was acquired by Microsoft, people had too many questions about Nokia's continuation it's newly launched X series but Microsoft didn't let it go and it teased coming of a new Nokia X Android-based smartphone this June 24th. Nokia's first Android device created a lot of buzz all around the internet before it was announced officially from the company. Some even doubted the Nokia X existence but when it was released, it all stopped. When Nokia received feedback from it's all of the customers all around the globe (wherever it was launched), the only negative point about the device was it's Home button which Nokia is rumored to fix it in other devices of the X family which will be coming soon. It's no more a minor updates. Today, Nokia released a new firmware update for Nokia X with some few changes noticeable and maybe something is hidden. The new firmware update is 41MB in size via OTA (over-the-air). The update version is Nokia X Software Platform v1.1 from v1.0 and the Software version also changes from v11.1.2 to v1.1.2.2. As usual, to update your device navigate to Settings> About Phone> Software Updates>Check for Updates (or) you can wait for that sweet update notification to pop-up on your Fastlane. Nokia has officially released an minor update for it's first Android device (actually customized one) improving the performance, stability and the ability to change Icon colors and a new feature called TalkBack. The Update can be downloaded OTA (Over-the-Air) and sized 16MB. Before you update make sure you have enough battery, if you don't have enough it will prompt you to charge first before you proceed. The most important thing, this update doesn't wipes off your Media data (images, videos, screenshots etc.,) and for the rooted users - some of them noticed removal of root from their device but for some the root remained their. Nokia has officially put up the X version of the Nokia X family for sale today for Rs. 8,599 and it's available at this rate at only nokia.indiatimes.com and the actual rate for the device is Rs. 9,499 which is quite over priced for it's hardware. People of India having been waiting for the Nokia X to be on Sale in India since it's official announcement at MWC14 and now the Online retailer Saholic.com has started taking orders for Nokia X stating it's price as Rs. 8,500 with Cash on Delivery available. A new and the first ever Photo sample captured from Nokia X a.k.a Normandy has surfaced online confirming that it will indeed have 5MP Rear camera with LED flash and confirms it. The Wall Street Journal has reported today that the Nokia will be showcasing it's first low-end Android device called "Nokia X" this month at MWC Barcelona event. According to WSJ's sources, Nokia was putting a lots of efforts into this Nokia X while the Microsoft was performing due diligence prior to it's acquisition for the company. However, this Nokia's first Android device will be officially revealed and launched as Nokia X. Unfortunately, the Nokia X will be launching without support from Google Play but instead will be having it's services from Microsoft and Nokia, it's just as same as Amazon's Kindle Fire.
