Yamaha Motor Sales Pvt Ltd launched a scooter 'Ray Z' with two new motorbikes in SZ series for Indian market at function in Goa on Friday (24th May 2013).
Yamaha launched Ray Z targeting people from age of 16-22 years old joining the Z series of Yahama motor vehicles. In September 2012 the company launched Ray which was aimed for female segment, now Ray Z will complement the Yahama Ray.

While the Ray Z maintains the same performance as Ray it has a new sporty look and feel with smoked-finish visor for a motorcycle-like image, aluminium rear wing-shaped tandem rider grab-bars, a new instrumental panel with carbon fiber patterned sear cover material, dynamic colouring and graphics.
Hiroyuki Yanagai president and CEO of Yamaha Motor company also unveiled their brand new slogan 'Revs Your Heart' on the occasion in Goa. Explaining their new slogan Yanagai said, "Empowered by a passion for innovation, we create exceptional value and experiences that enrich the lives of our customers."
Hiroyuki Suzuki CEO & Managing Director (MD) of India Yamaha Motor Pvt Ltd said, the company had set up a manufacturing plant in Chennai with an investment of Rs 1,500 crore and it would begin production in the second half of 2013. He said the company plans to sell 1 million units by 2014 and raise this to 2 million by 2016.
The Ray Z adopts the same air-cooled 4-stroke 113cc engine with CVT (continuous variable transmission) that delivers smooth start-up acceleration and good pickup along with great fuel economy. The Ray Z carries an ex-showroom Delhi price tag of Rs 48,555.
Yamaha Motor Pvt Ltd also introduced two new motorbikes in their SZ series called 'SZ-RR' and 'SZ-S'. The ex-showroom price tag for SZ-RR is Rs. 62,500 and price tag for SZ-S is Rs 59,500.
