Recently Micromax has claimed that they crossed over 1 million sales in their Canvas series.
In Press statement, Mr Shubhodip Pal, CMO, Micromax, said, “The Canvas series has proved to be a trendsetter in Indian smartphone segment. The demand for these devices has been on an upward curve from the time of their launch. It was great to witness consumers wait until 12:00am for their chance to book the Canvas HD on Valentine’s Day selling 9000 units in less than 24 hours.”
However, Canvas HD A116 faced major supply issues after it's release. At the time of launch Micromax had made A116 for Rs 13,999 on snapdeal. Later, Micromax was forced to increase price of A116 by 2,000 to maintain supply.
Micromax also stated to release their next Canvas A115 with 3D feature. The device is rumored to have following specifications :
Display - 5-inch WVGA with resolution of 800x480p
Processor - 1.2 GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6577
Android version - 4.1 Jelly Bean
Rear camera - 8 MP
Front cmaera - 2 MP
Internal storage - 4 GB
Micro SD card support - ✓
