Windows 8 which was only seen on the 10-inch tablets may soon be seen on other devices as well. Windows 8 has been recently spotted on Acer's 8.1-inch tablet "Acer W3" on Amazon. Devices competing with the i-Pad mini and Nexus 7 will soon be available in various markets.
The Amazon listing had a price tag of $379.99 for the Acer W3 for the 32GB model. The word is that the Acer W3 will be one of the "Most Affordable" Windows 8 tablets.
The Amazon listing Disappeared as soon as it was seen and then Dennis Kutnikov, of Acer Russia said that such a tablet would be seen on 4th of June at Computex. But Acer was unable to keep the News a suspense and now the Acer Website itself shows the Acer W3 tablet.
The Acer Icona W3 has an 8.1-inch WXGA(1280x768) Display and is powered by an Intel Clover Trail Atom Z2760 Processor. It has 2GB of RAM and is available in 2 variants- the 32GB and 64GB one.
It features a 2MP Webcam for video calls, and the chip has a x86 architecture because of which this Tablet comes with Windows 8 Pro pre-installed rather than Windows RT.
