Today 28th May 2013, Samsung Electronics launched two smartphones in India named as Galaxy Mega in two variants with different screen size. The two smartphones launched are Galaxy Mega 5.8 inch and Galaxy Mega 6.3 inch.
The Galaxy Mega 5.8 inch has been priced for Rs. 25,100 ($450.95) and 6.3 inch variant has been priced for Rs 31,490 ($565.75).

Galaxy Mega 5.8 is powered by 1.4 Ghz Dual-core processor, 1.5 GB of RAM, 8GB internal storage but user accessible storage is just 4.78 GB (expandable upto 64 GB via MicroSD card slot), 540x960 screen resolution (which is below average for 5 inch screens nowadays), 8 MP Rear Camera, 1.9 MP front camera and 2,600 mAh battery. This smartphone runs on Android version 4.2 Jelly Bean.
Galaxy Mega 6.3 is powered by 1.7 Ghz Dual-Core processor, 1.5 GB of RAM, 720p screen resolution, 16 GB internal storage only 10.51 GB accessible for user (expandable upto 64 GB via MicroSD card slot), 8 MP Rear camera, 1.9 MP front camera and 3,200 mAh battery. This smartphones runs on Android Version 4.2 Jelly Bean.
Vineet Taneja the head of Samsung mobile division in India said, "Consumers in India are preferring the larger screen displays in their smartphones owing to the time they spend doing more with their devices. Galaxy Mega meet the varying lifestyles of our consumers."
